Why replace your baseboard heating with a heat pump.
-
Heat Pumps are more energy-efficient because they transfer heat rather than generate it, resulting in up to 70% savings on your energy bill. They work by using electricity to move heat from the outside air (even in cold weather) into your home.
Baseboard Heating is typically less efficient, as it generates heat directly by converting electricity into heat. This leads to higher energy consumption compared to heat pumps, thereby costing more to use.
-
The installation of a Heat Pump system is usually more expensive upfront, which is why Zero Homes provide no-money-down financing. In the long term, they can save money through lower energy bills.
Baseboard Heating is easier and less expensive to install, especially in individual rooms. However, operating costs are usually higher over time due to the inefficient nature of the heating.
-
Heat Pumps provide more consistent and even heating (and cooling), while offering more flexibility with temperature control.
Baseboard Heating is not even in temperature distribution, as heat is emitted from each unit directly and may take longer to warm up a space. Some people find the direct heat from baseboard units a bit drier or more "spotty" in feel.
